The viewership of the show peaked at 10 million when the episode of Draupadi’s Cheer Haran was telecasted. Overall the show was ranked in the 10th spot of the most-watched Hindi GEC with a viewership of 6 Million and the highest viewership of 8 Million. This show was listed as the Top 20 TV Series of all time.
Role: Devaki and Vasudev’s son and Yashoda and Nanda’s foster son. Arjun’s friend and Radha’s love interest. He also played the role of Lord Vishnu as Krishna was the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Role: King Shantanu was the King of Hastinapur. Shantanu was the husband of Ganga and Satyavati. He had three children. He and Ganga had a son Bhishma. Shantanu and Satyavati had two children, Chitragada and Vichitravirya.
Role: Satyavati was a fisherwoman who married King Shantanu and became the queen of Hastinapur. She is also the mother of Vichitravirya, Chitragada, and Ved Vyas. She is the stepmother of Bhishma.

Role: Ganga is the Goddess of the holiest river in India. She is also the first wife of King Shantanu and mother of Bhishma.
Role: He is the son of King Shantanu and river goddess Ganga. He became the grandfather of Pandavas and Kauravas. His father King Shantanu gave him a boon that he can choose the time of his death.
Arav Chowdhary was among the main cast of the Mahabharat show.
Role: Vichitravirya is the second son of King Shantanu and Satyavati. He was a younger brother of Chitragada. He had two wives, Ambika and Ambalika.
Thakur Anoop Singh
Role: Dhritarashtra was the King of Hastinapur. Dhritarashtra was blind but had abilities like a person with eyesight. He was capable of warfare. He is the son of Ved Vyas and Ambika. Gandhari was Dhritarashtra’s wife. He had 100 sons named Kauravas and 1 daughter whose name was Dushala. His cousin’s brother was King Pandu and he had another brother named Vidur. Dhritarashtra was the paternal uncle of the Pandavas. Dhritarashtra was totally insecure with his position as the King of Hastinapur. Also, he was partial to his sons and favored them the most which prevented him from making good decisions.
Thakur Anoop Singh was among the main cast of the Mahabharat Show.
Arun Singh Rana
Role: Pandu was Ved Vyas and Ambalika’s son. He was Kunit’s and Madri’s husband. He had 5 sons who were named Pandavas. Pandu wasn’t the biological father of the Pandavas. Rishi Kindama gave Pandu a curse that if he made love with his wife or tried to bear a child, he would die. Dhritarashtra was his elder brother. Vidur was his younger brother. Pandu was the second King of Hastinapur after King Shantanu.
Role: Vidur was the Prime Minister of Hastinapur. He was among the wisest people of Hastinapur. He was the son of Ved Vyas and a maid working in the palace of King Shantanu. Vidur was the youngest brother of Dhritarashtra and Pandu.
Role: Karna was the firstborn of Kunti. Karna was Sun God Surya and Kunti’s son. He was eldest of the Pandav brothers but was never recognized as the Pandavs. His mother Kunti abandoned him after his birth because Kunti had him even before Kunti was married. Kunti feared that she will face backlash from society over her premarital pregnancy. He was raised by Adhiratha and Radha. He was a skilled Archer and was among the most powerful on the battlefield of the Mahabharat war. Some historical texts also suggest that he was a more powerful and a better archer than Arjun.
Karna was blessed with armor and earrings by his father Surya. It was said that the armor had the power of the Sun and no weapon in this world can pierce the armor. Karna became undefeatable with his armor and earrings. Krishna disguised as a brahmin asked Karna his armor and earring and this move helped Arjun in killing him on the 17th day of the battle. Karna being the elder brother of all the Pandavas, fought alongside the Kauravas against his own Pandavas brother.
Aham Sharma was among the main cast of the Mahabharat show.
Role: Yudhishthira was the second son of Kunti and the eldest brother of the Pandavas. He was son of Yamaraj and Kunti and the husband of Draupadi. He had four younger brothers are Bheem, Arjun, Nakul, and Sahadev. With Draupadi, he had a child named Prativindhya. Yudhisthira was the king of Indraprastha and Hastinapur. In his lifetime, he never spoke any lie and that is the reason Yudhisthira was the only Pandav who went to heaven.
Rohit Bhardwaj was also among the main cast of Mahabharat.
Role: Bhim was the third son of Kunti and the second of the Pandavas. Bhim was son of the wind god Vayu and Kunti. Bhim was the strongest son of Kunti and was a great warrior on the battlefield. Bhim had a very strong rivalry with his cousin Kauravas. His cousin Duryodhan and his uncle Shakuni tried to kill him much time but couldn’t kill him. Bhim had 1 elder brother Yudhishthira and 3 younger brothers Arjun, Nakul, and Sahadev. He was married to Hidimba and had one son Ghatotkach.
Saurav Gurjar was also among the main cast of Mahabharat.
Role: Arjun was the fourth son of Kunti and the third brother among the five Pandav brothers. He was a skilled archer and a very good friend of Lord Krishna. Arjun was son of Indra and Kunti. Arjun had 4 wives. They were Draupadi, Ulupi, Chitrangada and Subhadra. He had 2 children and they were Abhimanyu and Srutakarma. Arjun was also known as Parth.
Shaheer Sheikh was among the main cast of Mahabharat.
Role: Nakul was the first son of Madri and the fourth Pandava. Nakul was Ashwini Kumars and Madri’s son. He had another twin brother named Sahadev. Nakul had 2 wives they were Draupadi and Karenumati. He had three children, Satanika, Nirmaitra, and Printha. Nakul was the most handsome man in Mahabharata.
Along with Shaheer, Vin Rana was also among the main cast of Mahabharat.
Role- Sahadev was the fifth and the youngest Pandava brother. He was second son of Ashwini Kumars and Madri. Sahadeva had two wives named Draupadi and Vijaya and two children named Srutasena and Suhotra.
Along with Shaheer and Vini Rana, Lavanya was also the main cast of Mahabharat.
Role- Duryodhan was the eldest of the 100 Kaurav brothers and was the eldest son of Dhritarashtra and Gandhari. He was hot-headed and arrogant. Duryodhan was the crown prince of Hastinapur and had a rivalry with his cousin Pandav’s brother Bhim. He was a good friend of Ashwathama and Karna. He was brainwashed and manipulated by his maternal uncle Shakuni. He with his maternal uncle Shakuni planned and tried to kill Bhim many times but eventually failed every time. Duryodhan was Bhanumati’s husband.
Role- Dushasan was the second Kaurav brother and the second son of Dhritarashtra and Gandhari. Dushasan was the elder brother of all the 98 Kauravas and his sister Dushyala.
Role- Vikarna was the third son of Dhritarashtra and Gandhari. He was the third eldest Kaurav brother elder than 97 other Kauravas and his sister Dushayla. He was just younger than his two elder brothers Duryodhan and Dushasan.
Arpit Ranka, Nirbhay Wadha, and Sandeep Arora all were the main cast of Mahabharat.
Role- Parshuram was the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu. His name Parshuram means Ram with an ax. He was one of a most exceptional warriors. Parshuram was the teacher of the greatest warriors of the Mahabharat war like Bhishma, Drona, and Karna. He is a Chiranjeevi (immortal) who will teach Lord Vishnu’s tenth avatar, Kali, the art of warfare. Lord Parshuram was son of Jamadagni and Renuka.
Role- Shakuni was King Subala and Queen Sudharma’s son and the elder brother of Gandhari. Shakuni was the prince of the Gandhar region. Shakuni was the main person who brainwashed and manipulated his nephew Duryodhan against the Pandav brothers and specially Duryodhan. He had grudge against the Hastinapur Kingdom and Bhishma for marrying her sister Gandhari to a blind prince Dhritarashtra.
Role- Drona was the Royal teacher of the Pandavas and the Kauravas princes. He was Sage Bhardwaj’s son and was the husband of Kripi and the father of Ashwathama. Drona was a skilled warrior and archer who was trained by Lord Parshuram himself.
Both Praneet Bhat and Nissar Khan were important casts of Mahabharata.
Role- king Subala was the King of Gandhar. His wife was Queen Sudharma. Subala was Shakuni and Gandhari’s father.
Role- Amba was the daughter of Kashya, King of Kashi. She had two younger sisters Ambika and Ambalika and was the princess of Kashi. Amba was abducted by Bhishma and for that, she holds Bhishma responsible for her misfortune. She wished for Bhishma’s destruction and for the fulfillment of her wish, she took rebirth as Draupadi’s sister Shikhandini.
Role- Ambika was the daughter of Kashya, King of Kashi. Ambika was the sister of Amba and Ambalika. Ambika was the mother of Dhritarashtra which she conceived through Ved Vyas. She was also the princess of Kashi.
Role- Ambalika was the third daughter of the King of Kashi, Kashya. Ambalika was the sister of Amba and Ambika. Ambalika was the mother of Pandu which she conceived with the help of Ved Vyas. Ambalika was the princess of Kashi.
Role- Sudharma was the Queen of Gandhar and the wife of King Subala. Sudharma had one daughter Gandhari and one son Shakuni.
Role- Ashwatthama was Guru Drona and Kripi’s son. He fought from Kaurava’s side. Ashwatthama was a good friend of the Kaurav brothers and specially Duryodhan. He became a Chiranjeevi (immortal) after he was cursed by Lord Krishna.
Ankit Mohan was an important cast of the Mahabharat show.
Role- Abhimanyu was Arjun and Subhadra’s son. He was Uttara’s husband and Parikshit’s father. He fought from the Pandavas ‘ side. When Abhimanyu was in his mother’s womb, he learned how to enter the Chakravyuh but his knowledge was incomplete. He only knew how to enter the Chakravyuh and had no idea how to exit the Chakravyuh. He was brutally killed by the Kauravas after he entered the Chakravyuh.
Role- Ghatotkach Bheem and Hidimba’s son. Ghatotkach was a great fighter and was an asset to the Pandavas army on the battlefield. He was half human and half demon so he had some special abilities. He could fly, increase or decrease his size and become invisible. He killed many Kaurav army caused great destruction on the battlefield.
Character- Ved Vyas
Role- Ved Vyas Satyavati and Maharishi Parashar’s son. Ved Vyas was the brother of Chitragada and Vichitravirya. After the death of Vichitravirya, he helped Ambika and Ambalika conceive Dhritarashtra and Pandu. He also helped a maid in conceiving Vidur. Ved Vyas became the surrogate father of Dhritarashtra, Pandu, and Vidur.
Role- Drupad was the King of the Panchal and Shikhandini region. Drupad was the father of Draupadi and Dhristadyumna.
Role- Draupadi was the common wife of the Pandav brothers and the daughter of King Drupad of Panchal. Draupadi was the princess of Panchal. She had two brothers Dhristadyumna and Satyajit and one sister Shikhandi. She was the most beautiful woman during the Mahabharat times. She had five sons with five Pandav brothers who were known as Upapandavas. Draupadi was the mother of Prativindhya, Sutasoma, Shutrakarma, Shatanika and Shutrasena.
Role- Hidimbi was the demon queen. When Pandavas were traveling in the forest, Hidimbi saw Bheem and proposed Bheem to marry her. Bheem accepted her proposal and married her. She and Bheem had a son named Ghatotkach.
Role- Subhadra was the daughter of Vasudev and Rohini. She was the sister of Balram and Lord Krishna. Subhadra got married to Arjuna and was his fourth wife. She and Arjun had one son named Abhimanyu.
Role- Vrushali was Karna’s first wife. With Karna, she had two children Sudama and Vrishasena. Karna’s foster father Adiratha chose Vrushali as Karna’s wife. Vrushali was the childhood friend of Karna.
Role- Parashvi was the wife of Vidur, the Prime Minister of Hastinapur.
