Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan is also known as Aamir Khan, was born on 14 March 1965. He is a mainstream Indian actor, director, filmmaker. He is also a talk show host of a show named Satyameva Jayate.

Aamir Khan is an established, influential, and one of the most popular Indian actors with a career spanning over 30 years in the Indian film Industry.

Aamir Khan started his acting career at the age of 8 yrs in 1973. His first appearance on screen was as a child actor in the film Yaadon Ki Baarat. This film was directed by his uncle Nasir Hussain.

In 1984, he did his next film Holi as an adult actor. His full-time acting career started in 1988 with the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak where he was in a leading role.

He was awarded the National Filmfare Award for his 1989 thriller movie Raakh.

During this time he established himself as a leading Indian film actor by doing some commercially successful films like Dil in 1990, Raja Hindustani in 1996. He won his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his film Raja Hindustani. In 1999 he also did a thriller film Sarfarosh.

It was 1999 when he founded his own production house, Aamir Khan Productions. In 2001, the first film from his production house Lagaan was released which was a massive hit. Lagaan was nominated for Academy Award for the Best Foreign Language Film. Lagaan got the National Filmfare Award for the Best Popular Film. He also got Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Film for his film Lagaan.

Aamir Khan was born on 14 March 1965 in Bombay. His father’s name is Tahir Hussain and his mother’s name is Zeenat Hussain. Producer and director Nasir Hussain was his paternal uncle.

Aamir Khan started his movie career as a child actor when he was 8 years old in the movie Yaadon ki Baaraat which was directed by his uncle Nasir Hussain in the year 1973.

Then as an adult, he first starred in the experimental film Holi in 1984. Holi was directed by Ketan Mehta. Holi was a low-budget film and it had an assembled cast of new actors with no experience. And as a result, Holi failed to match the interest level of the audience.

Even if Holi failed, he was noticed by his uncle Nasir Hussain and was signed by him and his son Mansoor as the leading role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak alongside Juhi Chawla. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was a big commercial success. This led the newcomer Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla to stardom. The film received seven Filmfare awards including Best Male Debut Trophy for Aamir Khan. The film was so successful that Bollywood Hungama declared it a trendsetter film.

In 1989, he did another crime thriller film named Raakh which was directed by Aditya Bhattacharya. In the same year, he did another film Love Love Love with Juhi Chawla which was a commercial failure.

In the 90’s he did many films like Dil, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar, Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke, and Rangeela. All of these films were a box office hit. He also did a comedy film Andaz Apna Apna co-starring Salman Khan which was also a box office hit.

In 1996, he did Dharmesh Darshan directed Raja Hindustani opposite Karishma Kapoor which was a box office blockbuster. The film became the biggest hit of the year and it also became the third-highest-grossing film of the year in the 1990s. This film earned him his first Filmfare Award For Best Actor. It was his career’s biggest hit in the 90s.

In 1997, he did Ishq alongside Ajay Devgan, Juhi Chawla, and Kajol and the film was a box office hit. In the next year, he did Ghulam where he was paired opposite Rani Mukherjee and the film was just moderately successful in the box office.

In 2001, he produced and directed Lagaan which turned out to be one of the best movies in his career. Lagaan was a major commercial success at the box office. It also received a nomination for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 74th Academy Awards. Lagaan won many awards including a National Filmfare Award and helped him win his second Filmfare Award for Best Actor.

After this, he did Dil Chahta Hai with Akshaye Khanna, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta. The film was written and directed by Farhan Akhtar. It was Farhan Akhtar’s debut movie as a director.

After that Aamir Khan took a 4 years gap from Bollywood after his divorce with wife Reena Dutta.

He again returned to the film industry in 2005 with Mangal Pandey directed by Ketan Mehta. Mangal Pandey was screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2006 he did Rakeysh Omprakash Mishra’s Rang De Basanti. This was an award-winning film as Aamir Khan earned Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. This film was also nominated for India’s official entry to the Oscars.

In 2007 he did his directorial debut with the film Taare Zameen Par which was also produced by him. This film was successful at the box office and Aamir Khan received Filmfare Awards for the Best Director and Best Film of 2007. He also received National Film Award for the Best Film on Family Welfare.

From 2008 onwards he achieved global success by doing films like Ghajini, 3 Idiots ( 3 Idiots became the Highest Grossing Bollywood Film of that time). In 2013 he did Dhoom 3 which was again a big success in Bollywood.

The most successful movies of his career were PK and Dangal which earned more than 300 crores in the box office.
